Dr. Starner explores studies of bacteria in pulmonary patients, such as cystic fibrosis, and pulmonary host defense. He is a recent recipient of an EHSRC pilot grant to study the role of nontypeable Haemophilus influenzae infection in viral asthma exacerbations.
