Research Clusters and Facilities

lungs Environmental Lung Disease Research Cluster
Enhances epidemiological, etiological, and clinical research related to the detection, ascertainment, intervention, surveillance, and pathogenesis of environmental and agricultural airway disease

Oxidative Stress and Metabolism Research Cluster OSM graphic

Provides new training opportunities for students interested in Environmental Chemistry, Free Radical and Radiation Biology, and all aspects of Toxicology.

cells Inflammation and Innate Immunity Research Cluster

Serves as the intellectual home for EHSRC members who are researching mechanisms of immune responses, including airway inflammation, innate mechanisms relevant to systemic or more generally applicable immune responses.

Pulmonary Toxicology Facility dust mites

Makes available facilities and expertise for EHSRC investigators to enhance the productivity and quality of their pulmonary toxicology research and explore new investigations.

nanotechnology Environmental Modeling and Assessment Facility

Offers a variety of services and equipment needed to understand the relationship between contaminants found in rural environments and their impact on human health.

Integrative Health Sciences Facility gears

Provides the infrastructure for training of young clinical/translational investigators with an interest in environmental health science.

DNA helix Genomics Initiative

Serves as a resource that will facilitate the transfer of knowledge and techniques to junior investigators beginning new programs and established investigators ready to incorporate genomics into existing EHSRC investigations.
